Why should Spread Love be your guide to NYC?
It’s not just that Matt, our founder, is a native Brooklynite and hardcore New Yorker. It’s not just that he has been in the tourism industry for over twenty years, and knows New York. It’s not that he is a voracious reader, particularly of the food and drink milieu and can tell you where the best _______ is at that given moment. It also has nothing to do with the fact that he is an avid cyclist, searching high and low for the best street eats, the most interesting panoramic views, and the tastiest cocktails.
It’s all of this and more. It’s because Matt loves this city, his city, and he loves when, through his profession and his passion, he watches other people fall in love with it too.
Whether that happens coming out of a Broadway musical, slipping down a crooked side street in Chinatown, or biting into a perfectly grilled hot dog with mustard and kraut (no dirty water dogs please, that description should be self-evident,) Matt lives this life and loves it and loves it even more when he gets to share it with visitors from all over the world.

Every one of our 15+ tour guides are licensed by the NYC DCA. Most importantly , we ONLY hire engaging, entertaining guides. We instruct them to be the most New Yorkiest version of themselves.

Here is our SLT Cancellation Policy. We think it’s pretty generous.
Tours run rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, as per the US Weather Service, we will attempt to reschedule your tour directly with you at a mutually convenient date and time.
If you cannot reschedule, in case of severe weather, we will provide a full refund.
If you cancel outside of one month of the tour date, we provide a full refund. If you cancel within two weeks of the tour date, we provide a 50% refund. If you cancel within 72 hours of the tour starting time, we cannot provide a refund. -

History happened in the rain as well! However, no-one like a soggy tour guide, or client. We’ll try and work with or around the weather to reschedule the tour if possible.

We know our rates are 🤑. This is because we have the best tour guides in NYC and therefore, pay them the top rates.
We also put a lot of heart and soul into our Tour Ops and, for a one-man-band kinda company, we have exceptional customer service. When we say we’ll get back to you in a NY minute, we mean it.
What you’re paying for is a customized once-in-a-lifetime experience and our rates reflect it. -
Depends! If you want Matt, there’s an extra Matt Levy Xceptional Tour Guide add-on charge (he’s a busy guy.)
Other than that, we try to align your interests with our guides’ passion and knowledge. So if you want a foodie tour through Chinatown, we’ll assign it to a superfoodie who can also tell you about the Chinatown gangs of the 19th C. Or if you want to learn about the hidden histories of Central Park, we have guides who know the content inside and out. With 20+ years in this industry, we know our way around NYC.
